Dungeons & D@gr0nz: Older Than Thou

Dungeons & D@gr0nz: Older Than Thou
D&D Cumulative Aging Effects: (Quoted from the www.d20srd.org)
1. At middle age, -1 to Str, Dex, and Con; +1 to Int, Wis, and Cha.
2. At old age, -2 to Str, Dex, and Con; +1 to Int, Wis, and Cha.
3. At venerable age, -3 to Str, Dex, and Con; +1 to Int, Wis, and Cha.

Theoretically, starting at an advanced age is mostly good for a spellcaster. Played well, you can probably benefit from that bonus to your mental stats much more than the huge penalty to your physical stats will hurt you.

Now how do you justify being venerable and still at level one? Well...

Dungeons & D@gr0nz: The Es sence of Haggling

Dungeons & D@gr0nz: The Essence of Haggling
One of the most time-consuming segments of the game is shopping. I've heard of gaming groups that actually spend more time in town than in the dungeons thanks to their shopping sprees.

It need not be boring, of course. As you can see from the strip above, putting some flavor text to all those haggling rolls can turn even the most drawn-out shopping run into something that's at least remotely funny.

As a final note, this is an actual quotation of an in-game conversation. Props to Bobby for getting conned by that merchant time and again. XD

Oni Slaying 101

1/0 30.05.2007 05:38 English

Oni Slaying 101
Haberday Jason! :D

"Shinjo Akira · The Death Dealer

Akira never knew his real place in the world. His father was a Shinjo magistrate and his mother was a Soshi air shugenja. He is schooled in the Shinjo, Utaku and Bayushi techniques to satisfy his father’s, aunt’s and mother’s requests respectively. A Unicorn at heart, he always looks to the next horizon to explore. He was found and recruited by the Invincible One to join the Invincible Legion and has become a loyal member ever since. An excellent marksman, his skill with the bow, especially on horseback, is unparalleled. His travels before joining the Legion had increased his knowledge of various fighting styles and weapon techniques, which he incorporates into his own. Usually easygoing and approachable, he takes on the persona of the Death Dealer whenever he wears his white mask."

Here Akira conducts a lecture on dealing with the deadliest of Rokugan's foes -- oni.

Dungeons & D@gr0nz: Enter the Bard

Dungeons & D@gr0nz: Enter the Bard
Let's face it. Just about every campaign, at some point, has some IC form of anachronism squeezed in: whether it be a bounty hunter with a Glock, a gnome with the Millenium Falcon or a prophet who uses his crystal ball to watch Seinfeld.

In this strip I showcase one I wish people'd try more: the rockstar bard.

WoD, Part 4: Enter the Lupine
Ahh, the furballs. Also known as the Kuruth, they've got a reputation for being the World of Darkness' walking tactical nukes.

Mage and vampire alike fear 'em for a reason, y'know.

Will E. Macbeth: Lolita
Will E. Macbeth begins his documentary on the timeless classic, Lolita.

Those who've seen the video, yes I know I probably skipped some parts. I didn't say my remake'd follow the original's exact chronology, did I? ;)

Dungeons & D@gr0nz: Magic, lolz.

Dungeons & D@gr0nz: Magic, lolz.
The inspiration for this one was a line in the old Marvel Superheroes RPG wherein Dr. Strange compared a certain application of magic to using a bazooka on a roach.

Actually, this strip might apply to magic in general. Not just for RPGs. Lawl.

WoD, Part 3: Hunger Frenzy
I always found the piddling +1 to dice pools when in Frenzy rather...underpowered.
